Wow Defense and OL with a WR, TE and RB.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Is he a 2nd round trade down target? Or a trade up in the 3rd round? He certainly did all he could do the hurt his draft stock. I would be shocked if they picked him at 31.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Redshirt: Maybe I think if one of the NT falls to us and we stay in round 1 that could end up a starter. If we pick a DE that person could be in the rotation. We could pick a OL and there is an outside chance that person will start. The good news is other than a DL rotation person we are not really needing someone to play right away which allows for flexibility to maximize talent and staby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The nice thing about trading for Vets is that some other team had to pay the signing bonus and that becomes their dead money. If the performance is still good you are always getting the player at a discount. Pats do seem to be the king of trading and grabbing a vet in the trade. They also trade back years sometimes and end up with a bunch of picks that way too.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Quotedzrams QuoteDavid Deacon I think taking a chance on a guy like Isabella in the 4th or 5th round is okay even though you should not expect him to a full time receiver. I am all in on Deadpool's positional bias of 6 feet for a WR but Isabella isn't anywhere close and his catch radius is Austin like. Austin was one of those terrible mistakes by Fisher/Snead. QuoteRockRam Snead has stated that his analysis is that you can get as good olinemen in the middle rounds as in the early rounds. Therefore I just don't think you'll see a 1st round pick used on an olineman. Think Noteboom and Allen. If the Rams draft oline, I suspect it'll be the comp 3rd round pick at the earliest. I guess he came up with this logic after picking Greg Robinson at #2 oveby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

You will know the Rams have a big problem if they Draft Jacobs in Round 1. That will mean they think there is a big issue. Even drafting a RB in round 3 would indicate they are pretty concerned. They have certainly been coy about Gurley and there is definitely something going on but whether how big a problem that is who knows. But the draft will give us a clue if they think it is a big probby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

All that Bonus money hits the cap in 1 year and he got like 45Mil. There may be a time when like after June or July first where the cap his is spread over 2 years. but that is still a huge hit.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
AD is a workout warrior. I think he took a week or 10 days off. He is doing what he loves to do. I don't think I have ever seen an OL or DL with a body like that. He is all muscle. No worries this is what he does every year in the off season and each year he gets better. If you took him to the combine I bet he would beat all of his previous numbers right now as he works on speed, quicknby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Ed Oliver is going to be better as a Pro than he was in college.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Everett is a load when he gets the ball. He is a violent runner with speed and a load to bring down. Biggest issue I see is that he doesn't get the ball enough. He has good hands and not a lot of drops. McVay needs to figure out how to consistently get him open and get him the ball in space. If they get him the ball he will have a bunch of explosive plays and be another weaponby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

It seems like we may get a chance at one of these guys and it is an area of need. All of them have lots of experience and production against good competition and all the physical attributes you need on a DL I saw a mock with us taking Wilkins but I doubt he falls to us.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

The Rams need to see how their Salary Cap is going to shape up in 2020 and need to get all their big contracts resolved before negotiating with Goff. They will pick up his 5th year option which will be less costly than a new contract. Now they still may want to negotiate a new deal as the price of QB goes up each year. Right now the only thing in play is the timing and if they are going to negby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotejemach at 31...you get the best player on your board. And, if you don't like the best player on your board at 31...or think you need to move up or down to get him...do so. What the BPA is a QB? A QB at 31 is not going to play or be rated to even take Goff job down the road. We already have Bortles for #2. This is just an example but it would be very doubtful they would take a QB at 3by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 QuoteDavid Deacon I think if the Rams stay a 31 they will pick the BPA from this group unless there is someone who really stands out from a value perspective then all bets are off. For 2019 DL depth and a rotational capable player is needed. On the OL we need depth. Edge it seems is addressed but most of us still see that as a question. Polite is a huge risk and is almost certain to drop. Now I did see where he felt he had a good interview with McVay for what it's worth. If the Rams decide that an edge is what they need most which I am not sure they do and they are sold on Polite then a trade down is almost sure to happen. Whether you like Allen or not he will be given every chance to be the starter. Do we even have a backup center on the roster? Demby is depth at guard and maybe can swing to RT in a pinch but seems like we need another OG/C either through the draft or a inexpensive FA.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I saw a Mock draft that had the Rams picking Wilkins but I think that is a wish and a dream and that he will be gone before that. I also saw a Kiper 3.0 Mock and he had like 6 OL going in the first round and still had us taking Bradbury. Quotezn QuoteAlbaNY_Ram The draft articles either go back to 2012 or 2013; Snead was hired in 2012. My take is Snead has been consistently good at finding talent but McVay and his staff have been better at developing and utilizing that talent than Fisher and his staff were. Burns, Allen, Sweat, Ferrell and Bosa are gone at edge, the top 3 CBs (Murphy, Williams and Baker) are gone and you cannot trade down, who are you taking? Its a scenario I could see happening. In fact Lance Zeirlien's latest mock (3/21) actually has that almost happen (McCoy is left). And anyone can answer. Becaby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
1 year deals are a double edged sword. First off all the cap money is in the current year so you aren't making contracts with potential dead money in them. Limiting Long Term Cap Risk Players should be highly motivated as they are playing for a longer term contract. The reason they are signing 1 year deals is that they believe they have something to prove and so does the market place.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
If Noteboom is not cut out to play OG then we need to find one or Demby needs to be ready. Either way it looks like we will draft a OL during the first 3 rounds. The only position group with less depth is DL. I agree with all the other observations.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
