The last time Fisher started a backup QB over a celebrated rookie, the Titans went 13-3 with little production from Kerry Collins. Add that to me being so "sure" that he will not lead the Rams to anything better than 7-9. On top of all of that, the Seahawks don't have Lynch anymore so that matchup may not be as tough for the Rams The 49ers are a huge question mark too but Kellyby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know all the in's and out's of what's going on but, yes, AT&T bought DirecTV. DirecTV is still it's own thing but their practices are being modified to more closely resemble how AT&T does things. And, as much as I've enjoyed DirecTV, they aren't above criticism either. They've been nickle and diming for a long time. Paying extra for HD service, totally random program packagiby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Sadly, my run with DirecTV just ended. After 14 years of $80-$100/month on average, I just didn't want to fork it out this year. I'll always want to have the option to watch any game that I want but not at that cost. Not with streaming options. Their best offer this year for just the Ticket was $40/month X 6 months. $240 just isn't a deal for me. Plus, that $90/month for the cheapest servby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLesBaker Hahaha you know I am kidding. The Goff not starting thing is almost entirely a matter with posters who dislike Fisher. People who are neutral or like Fisher understand the idea of waiting until a guy is ready. Not sure why that is hard to understand but whatever. The Fisher can't develop QB's has been myth-busted. The Fisher wants a ground and pound O has been myth-busted.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know for sure what it is, but the Rams are in an unusual situation. Much more so than it's the media making stuff up. For one, it's unusual for a #1 overall QB pick to not be the opening day starter. There is supposedly a reason the team drafting a QB #1 is doing so. In the Rams' case, they aren't a 2-14 team by record, but their offense was as bad or worse than any of those other tby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
All the positive things being said about Keenum could be said about Clemens. Was anyone happy to have Clemens as a starter?by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Well, Munoz is a USC alum so maybe he's got some contacts in LA?by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
How am I making it sound like that? I said they gave up on him too early and drafted a QB when they didn't ultimately have to. Brees was going to be the starter to open '04 most likely considering how well he played that year. He would have beaten out Rivers even if he hadn't held out.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
A 1st or 2nd? Rounder? For Keenum? And you'd have to consider it?!?by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Rivers wasn't even on the team in 2003. In '04, Brees was playing at a pro-bowl level. The light came on, whatever you want to say.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't really see many similarities myself, but even if there were, it implies that Keenum might be in the same conversation with HOF level guys. There is a reason someone uses the names of Warner or Brees instead of Hoyer or Mallet or Davis or other 3rd string level guys getting a chance to start. I mean, one could easily compare Matt McGloin and Case Keenum but it isn't going to artificiallyby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I think there's something else going on or "wrong' already. I don't know what it is but my spider-sense is tingling. None of the little things are too damning on their own but when you add it all up, something is going on that isn't being reported. That Fisher has been a part of something weird before with Vince Young, it makes you wonder. My guess right now is that Goff doesn't mesh wby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I guess he's like having a Kellen Clemens or Shaun Hill or even an Austin Davis. Limit what they're doing, insulate them and they can all make a few plays and protect the ball. Keenum as a backup? No problem. I agree that he's good to have around. Keenum as the starting QB and team captain though? That's where I start having reservations.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I think you better be careful about looking at the total stats for Keenum last rather than the individual games. He had that ridiculous game against TB, which you don't take away from him but it is an outlier game. He hasn't usually played like that throughout his career or even last year. For example, some credit him for winning in Seattle. While literally true, realistically I don't thiby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
True, in their history the Rams have a perfect example of not knowing what you've got until he plays. But, let's be honest. Does Kurt Warner happen every day? Every year? Every once in the history of the NFL? As far as Brees/Rivers, I think you're either giving Keenum too much credit or forgetting how well Brees was playing. Rivers sat because there was a legitimate pro-bowl QB in front oby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
"Eli" didn't emerge in the 2007 regular season. It wasn't until that playoff run and the next season that his numbers started to improve. It took until his fifth season to post a rating above 80 or a completion % above 58. His team had miraculous success in 2007 but Eli hadn't quite arrived for most of that year. I agree, if the Rams can win the SB with Goff under center by 2018,by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
They have a storied franchise moving back to LA, the number one overall pick and his journey AND he's a QB and then all of the "normal" stuff that goes on. Yet, from everything I've heard, it was a snooze fest. Weird.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
After YEARS in the league, Eli and Alex both developed into solid starters. If Goff is on that trajectory, his rookie deal will be up before he's even "solid".by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
So what's your point? That the Rams are a winning team that can't take any risks? Because they're not going to do much differently than they did last year by starting Keenum. We're not talking about having an established starter in front of Goff. Not to mention, the games that Keenum was winning last year were against bad teams where he didn't throw the ball much. I'm very confident that Gby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
as much as I am about the coach, assistants, personnel, scheme and playcalling. Put Goff just about anywhere else and he'd be ready to start or at least look like he's ready to challenge for the job. Tennessee and Tampa Bay, among others, somehow got their rookie QB's prepared enough to at least be on the field and start their learning curve. That's why I'm aggravated. Is Bradford's production done in a vacuum though? Look at each year and each team and it isn't hard to understand why he hasn't been productive. Look at just last year. Kelly's system has been less effective each year. Kelly wasn't ready to be a GM. Kelly got rid of key pieces of what success he did have. LT Peters was hurt throughout the year and less effective. Evan Mathis was cut.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I think we're all still waiting because Fisher won't go out and hire a competent OC like Norv Turner.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
It isn't so much about "caring" about Sam Bradford for me. It's about not being able to discuss relatively big news in the NFL because some posters go overboard and act without decorum. The news is related to quite a few former Rams and is a hot topic right now. It shouldn't be a big deal for those of us who are interested to talk about and for those that aren't, to ignore it andby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
This reminds me of when the Steelers just plain refused to give up on Kordell Stewart as a QB. Jim Miller and Tommy Maddox looked like Johnny Unitas by comparison once they shelved the whole "Slash" experiment. Why Fisher and Co. continue to "develop" Quick is just beyond me. There are some decent names on the cut list so far and the Rams likely won't even kick the tiresby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteLos Angeles Lenny but it is very early, Rams should sit Goff for at least a year maybe 2.They should sit him 2 years and then go through his first year of learning and be looking at a lame duck QB and have to decide whether to extend him off of his lone year of playing?
