I think there's something else going on or "wrong' already. I don't know what it is but my spider-sense is tingling. None of the little things are too damning on their own but when you add it all up, something is going on that isn't being reported.

That Fisher has been a part of something weird before with Vince Young, it makes you wonder. My guess right now is that Goff doesn't mesh with Fisher in terms of personality. Goff must not be approaching things or acting in a way that Fisher likes. It very much feels like Fisher is trying to impose something on Goff.

Which, in a way, I can agree with. You don't want any player acting entitled or unprofessional. But, I also have to wonder about Fisher's POV. He doesn't seem to feel that any QB is worth treating special. Which, with QB's, is just a necessary evil. I just don't know. I haven't been a fan of the Goff cost, pick or performances thus far so I'm not exactly seeing things from his side but a #1 overall, 5 draft pick QB is bound to require different handling than a 7th round gunner on special teams.

My guess is that Goff is acting entitled to some degree and that Fisher is trying to teach him a lesson. My problem with that is that QB's are just different. At the end of the day, he's a 21 year old kid and forcing him to submit may not be the best approach. Publicly neutering the BMOC may humble him and make him grow but it just might deflate and change him.

Personally, I want my QB to think he's the king of the world and strut around with swagger. I think a QB has to be a little delusional that way. Trying to force one to think like a LB or just any other ol' player is a mistake IMO and it seems like that's what Fisher is trying to do. I didn't follow the Young situation closely but it seems like Fisher viewed Young the same way. Basically, a pissing contest vs. the BMOC. He may win the battle, but I don't know that it's actually what's best for the team. With Young, I was never a fan but Fisher butting heads with him didn't do Young or the team any good in the long run. Whatever Young was, he was pretty effective at it until Fisher "fixed" him. Neutered him.
