I got to draft Gurley in the 2nd round. I always believed that the offensive approach didn't give him a chance in previous year and he was undervalued. No space to run vs lots of space to run makes all the difference in the world.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That is what happens with Fisher and offensive players. The entire offensive approach and system has such a stench to it, that star players become below average players. I have said it over and over. Fisher did acquire talent, but that talent played poorly on offense because of his coaching.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
would still be struggling players in the NFL had the move from Fisher to McVay had not been made. The improvement of these 2 players because of coaching is obvious and the biggest reason the Rams went from worst to a top tier offense this year. There are things that I complain about with McVay, but he has done a great job revitalizing the careers of Goff and Gurley where they would be floundby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
If you stand next to brick house and you step back 5 yards and run into the house. 1) 1st time, you fall backwards at the base of the wall 2) 2nd time, you fall backwards at the base of the wall After you do this about 15 times, you can conclude that the brick wall isn't moving. the evidence here is overwhelming. I would go as far to say above average, but that F on offense, actually a F- (since it was historically bad) with talent that we seem thriving now without him, made him a slightly below average coach.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
that the talent underperformed on offense. Goff and Gurley would still be below average players if Fisher were here. That sounds crazy since Gurley is a MVP candidate, but yes. BELOW AVERAGE is what he got to with this predictable offense that opposing defense could do whatever they chose to do because they didn't have to defend too much or account for much with the most dummied down offensby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the offensive team should maintain possession but it gets moved back to the 20 yard line. If the offensive team fumbles the ball and it goes out of the endzone. That is too huge of a penalty to give the ball to the other team when they did not actually recover the fumble.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
It goes like this. The QB is good without Fisher. The QB lands with Fisher and is horrific. The QB leaves Fisher and is good again.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
But the Falcons has great players around him that can catch and run all day and those explosive runningbacks.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I cannot stand that division. 1) I don't like Falcons because Matt Ryan is so overrated. 2) I don't like Saints because of Newton and his overall arrogance and disrespect to just about anything. 3) I don't like Saints because of Bounty Gate which is a shame because Drew Brees would be a very likable player had it not been for him staying quiet during that criminal activity. and now do not have that bye and homefield throughout the playoffs.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I see the photos every week posted where he is open on this board, but he gets very little results. I think some of it is the way the Rams use him, but I think that maybe he is still not quite back from the injuries the previous year. Still, I feel if he goes elsewhere he will be a 1000 yard receiver and I think the Rams will lose a little with defenses accounted for him. When you watch gamby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
:embarrassed Just kidding. It doesn't work because of guys are better before he coaches them, than when he coaches the QBs they become horrific, and when he no longer coaches them, they are good again. Foles, Keenum, Goff could all be playoff qbs and when Fisher had them, they were like the worst in the NFL.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe to win this game, the Rams have to carry the lead in the 4th quarter. I know with Wilson as the QB, you are always in trouble as he is a master of late game comebacks, but I believe based on how this season has gone, that the Rams cannot win in the 4th quarter if the element of "Time" is the factor. I don't know if I have ever seen anything like that 3 and out last week buby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
One is an event of competition where the other team made a play. The second one is self induced brain fart.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
the entire play clock while trailing late in the game and got the ball back with less than 10 seconds because of pissing away that time has my goat so bad, there is no perspective on my part. Still stunned by that 3 and out burning so much clock. I do agree Goff has developed well and the Rams are good to have him, but he is developing a trend of not being able to win close games against goodby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
the fact that they won any games at all without Rodgers was a big surprise. The Packers got blessed by a very easy schedule and beat teams like the Browns and Buc to stay afloat. If Rodgers can get this team in the playoffs, it will be legendary.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
but to be blunt, that 3 and out burn up the clock has my goat more than anything, even more than the dumb penalties that also burned clock unnecessarily and almost gave them a chance to get a touchdown. I do actually like what he has introduced with getting to the line early to control substitutions and see defenses early and all of that. when trailing late in the game. I have never seen a team take so much time when losing late in the game. Never has it been done. Worst Hurry Up offense ever.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff cannot lead team to victory against quality opponents in tight games late when he is trailing. THAT IS BECOMING A REPEATING THEME. Maybe, he will in time, but McVay tries to control everything and has no trust in him. All of this line of scrimmage chit chat with him in his ear until 15 seconds left on the playclock = Lack of Trust I have never seen a team trailing late use the entirby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not that he is great, which he may be, but that Cooper and Reynolds fall off is significant. Definitely these guys are nowhere near the level of Proehl and Hakim back in the years. By that matter, Watkins is a big disappointment. Maybe another year and he is heathier, but for now he is not a threat other than he has good hands and is physically strong, he is just another guy. running down the play clock to 1 second when you are trailing late with less than 5 minutes left in the game was the dagger in the heart.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Why not give it a shot and throw it toward the end zone?by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Trailing late in the game, Goff and McVay ran down the entire clock on a 3 and out. Boy an extra 30-40 seconds would have came in handy. That was as badly prepared hurry up offense that I have ever seen in the history of the game. It was like they have never prepared. Goff and McVay should be completely embarrassed.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
rams need to get homefield for playoffs, not because of the home crowd which is below average, but because on the road all the micki-mouse line of scrimmage stuff they do will be problematic with the visiting crowd stadium noise. I saw so much confusion and players playing tentative against the Vikings. Like they didn't know what they were doing. Expect more confusion at the Line of Scrimmby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
There is a QB that may not put up the points or yards, but everybody knows he is a winner QB from the eye ball test as he leads his team to victory. I am a stats guy, but there are exceptions when there are intangibles that mean so much that has to be factored into the evaluation and Wilson is one.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he is very good and insightful. Doesn't mean Kurt couldn't be equally good or better, but Collinsworth is interesting and a thinker.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
so I am always pulling for the Steelers at this point.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hard to evaluate Ryan is overrated for sure as he has so much talent around him and it is hard to mess that up, but both QBs are good and somewhere between 5-15 range. Cousins doesn't have near the talent surrounding him.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
When I read the board, I am perplexed on the absolute certainty many fans have that Cooper and Reynolds are the next coming of Issac Bruce and Tory Holt. I actually think it is a stretch that they will be this diamond in the rough player like Stefon Diggs of the Vikings. Cooper has 56 yards of receiving and 3 fumbles Reynolds has 65 yards of receiving. While neither have gotten that manyby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
