Basically, they have him just running deep to clear out space. That is his role and he won't get the opportunity I am afraid.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
1) Ignoring open players in pass coverage is a problem That has been ongoing, but it seems many times there are multiple players open like 1999 and you pick. The problem is too many picks are missing the better decision. 2) 2nd issues is the excessiveness of micki mousing at the Line Of Scrimmage I get changing a play sometimes makes sense, but down after down, there is confusion and itby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
a problem. I like the diversity and the way Gurley is used and the rollouts and the mixing up of plays. But I feel the WRs are mismanaged and not using Watkins in the short game is just inexcusable. Has he dropped a short pass in traffic ever. He likes to box each WR into a very specific role.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
unfortunate, in the NFL when you lose just a bit, you go from making plays to almost making plays. He missed on an easy strip sack that would have changed the flow of the game and missed on a few others. He did blow up one running play, but he just has lost a little bit and isn't quite the same player.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe the problem with the game today was simply too much improvising at the line of scrimmage. Half the time, the team couldn't hear and looked uncertain what the heck they were doing on offense. It would have been better to go hurry up and just play and go with the play that was called. It all is starting to get too cute. Also, why on early would you not throw 2 yards passes to Waby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
They were playing off Watkins so many times 10-20 yards. They only took advantage of it a couple of times.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I was never a Keenum fan, but he made plays today. Play after play with his mobility. The Rams defense came close to causing a big mistake but couldn't finish the deal. But how Fisher holds back and offense is so crystal clear at this point. Why in the world did he just delegate something he was so bad at and focus on other parts of the team is beyond me. It cost him dearly.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That decision to take a knee and punt the entire 4th qtr was the worst that I have seen. Other than the Green Bay coach costing the team the superbowl by taking the ball out of Aaron Rodgers hands, I don't know if I have seen worst.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
and throw him the ball early and often. I keep seeing NFL videos on TV and photos on this board and he has been open for big play opportunities. They are wasting probably the 3rd most talented player on the team other than Donald and Gurley. I gave them a free pass so far because you can't argue with the tremendous success, but now that that the schedule is getting tougher it is time to unby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Fisher needs a quarterback that can overcome a dysfunctional base offense and improvise on his own. The only QB to have success under Fisher was McNair and his QB stats were not all that good. He basically did just that - overcame a dysfunctional offense. I was shocked one day when I looked at some of Eddie George's run per carry averages. They were not good, but that is what happens wheby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That team has talent - all over the place. It is greatly underachieving and I know this guy just got started and you want to give him time, but it isn't looking good. Today to me will cause him to lose the team just like the Giants coach has done. At least the Giants have had some injuries to explain some of their issues. The Chargers are where the Rams were last year. The problem is Riby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
How can you not at least try to get a first down to close out the game. In every possession in the 4th quarter, they basically took a knee and punted. Why don't teams watch what Belicheck does? You know when he went for it on 4th an 1 to try to close out the Colts and didn't make it. The fact that he had that mindset is why that team wins. He figures out the best percentage play in winby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
How they got 5 wins is a miracle, but the team has a chance for the playoffs and is clearly playing about their heads. At some point, you have to complete passes in the NFL to compete.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
It is like running a mile and one person gets a 1/2 mile head start. Even with Pace missing almost all of his rookie camp, he pushed his way in the starting lineup because he was so far along and was an alternative pro bowler in year 2. It was clear he was prepared for the NFL. Robinson was at like a high school level, both knowledge of the game because of his limited college playbook andby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
but Martz left and went to Washington for a few years. Kennison struggled for years, but did do well when he hooked up with Al Saunders many years later. Kennison wasn't a bad player and if Martz hadn't left probably would have been a good WR. As we see with Martz and McVay, coaching can make all the difference in the world with players. See Goff and Gurley last year vs this year. Keby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I hate to be this way and when I say people I mean football people, not the average fan like the people on this board, but he: 1) Played in a run only offense with a limited playbook in college 2) He was a young player 3) There had to be some kind of interviewing process where somebody could pick up that he had a hard time absorbing information 4) There had to be video on his fundamental flby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
because he didn't deliver the value for a 1st round pick. But he was not a bust, as guys don't play 10 years in the NFL and start most of those years if they can't play at all.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
was at the #2 spot you need playmakers and the fact he was a developmental type of player. The pick never made any sense at all from the get go. Even if it had worked out it was a bad percentage play.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Guys that play 10 years and start most of those years are not all bad. Archuletta and Pickett were borderline pro bowl players in their careers at different points..by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
both bordering on pro bowl appearances.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
and not to be compared to this team. This team cannot pass the ball and it will cost them. They can't keep winning with smoke and mirrors even with a good defense. But those teams were some of the best in NFL during those years. They just didn't make a field goal. Some of the best offenses in NFL history.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Nobody has any idea whether this guy can play yet especially since he grew up under Fisher who has a long history of being horrific with QBs. Most of the guys they could/would sign floating around the NFL, we know they cannot play and is why they no longer start.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Because they are dreadful to watch and maybe the worst 5-3 team that I have ever seen.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
He clearly is the most valuable player in the NFL. Look at the Packers before his injury and after his injury and enough said. While Ryan had great stats and results, he was more a product of the players around him, while Rodgers lifts up an entire team. I said I believe the Packers are a 3 win team without Rodgers and I may not be far off. I thought maybe that was too strong of stateby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That first week was the best the Vikings played for years. After the Bradford knee injury, it was all over. They will win some ugly games and be in contention, but in the end, they won't have enough passing offense to get it done. Than to boot, they lost the rookie RB which made the offense even less capable.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I had my doubts about him, but he was in such a horrific offensive system with a bad approach and bad offensive coaches. He would never had developed under the old offensive coaches including Fisher. Once the firing took place, I knew he had a chance to develop and he has done that and is a good QB right now. I just knew he had a chance where he had none before. If Fisher had remained, Goby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think while he mixes it up, he boxes receivers in their defined role. Swim Lane. I would have Kupp go deep some and Watkins do short stuff and get him the ball for run after catch. I have Austin go out for a pattern once in a while other than the screens. I guarantee if he did this, those plays would work, PERIOD. Kupp would be open deep. Watkins would be running wild after the catch oby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
but he is blowing it with Watkins. The guy could be a Jones type of player if they game planned him that way. His power and hands are undeniable and his speed is good. He has a competitive spirit. The only thing we don't know about is his mental makeup and if he absorbs the offensive plays and concepts. I sometimes think the Rams tried to sign him and he is already written off isby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
It doesn't surprise me whenever Buffalo Loses. What shocks me is that they have 5 wins.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Simply put: They are both playing way about their heads. I think they should have finished the entire season with the number of wins they had at the half way point. The AFC East should be a horrific division, but teams are coming to compete and stealing wins. It doesn't surprise me whenever Buffalo wins. What shocks me is that they have 5 wins.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
