They could use Perkins as a wild card. Line him up at WR or RB and make him a threat to run or throw. Just another guy who could pressure on the defense in non traditional way.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Going into the season it seemed like we had almost too many DB on the roster and now it looks like we will need everyone of them. I guess Burgess can jump in if we have an emergency but with Fuller down he is also the emergency Safety. Hendricks had a great camp so we will get to see how he does this week in the Nickel. This may be where Rochelle stands out and takes over the starter job fby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
What makes Skow valuable to this team is his versatility so that he can be used as a 2nd TE, a FB or as a WR. Rams could use a lead blocker at times for their small backs and since we don't have a FB Skow is the next closest thing. If you just look at him as a 4th WR he is unimpressive but when you look at him as a Swiss Army Knife type of guy he is a guy you want on your team and active durinby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
With the Cap situation it is clear that Havs was the number 1 priority. Higbee would have to be #2 and it may not be possible to resign Higbee which will be a big loss. Edwards is at best a decent starting guard who can play tackle in a pinch. Certainly he is useful and good to have on the team but not as a high priced vet. Hopefully he will earn enough on the open market to bring a good drafby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43 I feel like you are reading my mind except you are presenting it much clearer than I would. Like Skow as a lead blocker playing the swiss army knife position on the offense. They got lot's of work to do but I have faith....for now.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I now everyone is writing Tutu off but after Buffalo it is clear that they had to figure a bunch of things out that took priority. They needed to get Robinson the ball and needed to improve their blocking up front and used Skow in the backfield to help with that. I think once they get the base offense working well, which did okay except for the untimely turnovers, they will look to introduce aby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Still getting ready to play at peak performance. All teams are trying to ramp up their level of performance during the first few games of the season. The Rams may have a bigger gap than most teams as they refuse to play their starters or key reserves during the preseason. The lack of preseason competition, especially for a team which so many young players helps to explain the slow start anby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams didn't really have a choice did they? They don't have a backup center on the roster with Allen out. Heck they may even have to make Kolone active for the games to protect against injury. Does that mean you carry 3 offensive linemen on the active roster or is Kolone & Jackson the 2 actives with Shelton moving to guard if one of the guards gets hurt?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Out of all the potential salary cap casualties projected for next year I think Hav's has a shot to stay if the price is right. Higbee would be the second guess but their may not be cap room for either next season.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotegeorge_allen QuoteDavid Deacon Buff, Cinn, & KC are the cream of the crop in the AFC heading into the season. i've learned not to sleep on the patriots over the years. i think they will be in the mix come the end of the '22 season as much as it hurts to say that. I would not be surprised to San Diego in the hunt in post season either. but yes, i agree, coming into the regular seasby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Since the Rams don't play even young rotational players in the preseason it is hard to tell how much people like Skow have progressed. Last year he proved be able to get open and he seemed to do a good job blocking and on special teams. He also showed a bad set of hands which is very concerning with a WR. Well it looks like we will start to find out it would be surprising if Van plays on Tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I remember reading that the Rams spent time with the defensive coaches making sure that they had a plan to keep Wagner and Jones on the field for all 3 downs. I suspect that means that we will see more pressure coming from the ILB than we have in the past. Just what will our defensive alignment be in obvious passing downs? Do we drop an edge or perhaps a DL when we add more DB's into the mix?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePSJRam I thought I read that Snead said that Jacob Harris would likely be pulled up ahead of McCutcheon due to the fact that Harris is a stud on pretty much all special teams. I'm very interested to see what McCutcheon can do but when you figure Kupp, Robinson, Jefferson (when healthy), Atwell, Skowronek, Powell (Will be the KR/PR) and Harris (ST Ace) are likely to see the field ahead of Mby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wouldn't it be great if McCutcheon could get on the field and do some damage? I would like to see him tear up that red shirt Snead put on his back.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Sounds like O'Connell is a real leader just like his mentor. The coaching tree continues which only adds to the legend in the making of Coach McVay.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Allen to me is as good as any QB in the league which always makes things scary. RB was weak last year and they only added a rookie Defense should be pretty tough Look for a shootout if Rams are going to win. Replay of KC/Buff playoff game?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 How do y’all now feel about that draft? And the entire offseason, for that matter? A helluva lot of questions have been answered, huh? I can’t stop smiling… I am feeling good too 43. QuoteRams43 QuoteDavid Deacon I don't disagree with the analysis except that Skow will be active on game day while McCutcheon will probably be inactive due to special teams. Maybe if Van is inactive for a few games McCutcheon will be active as the 3 WR. McCutcheon can play on teams, too. I like his chances to be active early on this year. I agree this squad is better than what we had to start with last year. 1. Akers is back and healthy 2. Jones is an established upper echelon player 3. Wagner is an all pro stud 4. Robinson is an upgrade over Woodie 5. Lots of young and exciting talent in the Secondary 6. Stafford has a full year under his belt with McVay's offense. Offensive Line probably lacks depth of last yeaby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Out of Evans, Funk and Perkins the only surprise to me was Evans. Perkins would have been picked up off of waivers and Right now Wolford who tore off a fingernail may be a question from an availability standpoint. Also it is not totally clear who is the Number 2 QB. As for Funk I agree he hasn't shown much in preseason but he was running behind a 2nd/3rd string line and sometimes against regulby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I could see the Rams putting a package in for Perkins with and without Stafford. Line him up as a RB or Slot with a run pass option. Put him in for Stafford in a wildcat to surprise the defense. That way you could keep him active and let Wolford be the emergency QB if both QB's are hurt. At least we would have another another contributor on the roster which makes keeping 3 QB's more palatableby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Quoteden-the-coach I understand he was drafted in the 3rd round, however, after his rookie year Evans has not grown whatsoever. Evan more disappointing was the fact that Evans IMO, really never got into Professional Football Shape. Where was he when a bunch of Offensive Linemen joined Andrew Whitworth in his garage. Always looking out of shape and slow footed, which led to him struggling in paby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Quoteoldschoolramfan Can't wait to see him in action because he's going to add something special to this offense. The guy is a no nonsense type RB....Solid! I’m a big KW fan, myself. I agree that the top 2 backs seem to be injury prone and that is troubling. Behind Akers/Henderson we are unproven. Williams we have even seen play and he has only practiced for 3 weeks. Funk with good blocking might be okay but all we know is that with bad blocking he isn't very good. Good post 43 not sure I am that optimistic QB: Stafford: Backups weak by NFL standards, lack experience RB: Akers/Henderson: FunkingWilliams is still on the prove it list with a long way to go.
