Hendy surely wasn't a great back but when you look over our RB group none of the standout and you could argue not are even average. Hendy seemed to hit the holes that Akers continues to miss but he goes down with one good hit. Williams can't stay healthy but maybe he can prove to be a good backup type. One thing is for sure we need a good starting RB and we don't have one on the roster right nby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think the Starting RB for next year is on the roster right now. I think RB is the number one need going into the draft and either the 2nd or 3rd round will be RB who is expected to start.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree Williams is a stretch. Also I think if he is the starter that means we are in trouble and awfully thin at RB.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
We didn't have McVay and Snead to get us back on track in 1990 & 2006by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree this year is over. Time to focus on developing the talent we have. Let Perkins have more Reps so that we can see if he can be a reliable backup next season. Wolf gotta go. Also we should be looking league wide for potential practice squad Offensive Lineman that can be developed. Also Tutu & McCutcheon need to play now that Kupp is out. Lets see what we have in those two. On a tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This team has been decimated by injuries this year. Is it the SOFI turf?by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Gosh after Martz which ended because he and the front office were dysfunctional we went into 15 years of the dark ages. Things were so bad from a coaching and front office that Fisher was a huge upgrade and he really sucked as a coach and leader of the organization. McVay is a proven winner and leader and we are blessed to have him. He may have a few blind spots but that can be fixed.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
My perspective may be a different. Rams went all in and it paid off with a Super Bowl. Only their 2nd Super Bowl win in franchise history. Rams have had a playoff roster for last 5 years and I believe they had a playoff roster this year but the Offensive line disaster doomed the team. Sometimes you just get screwed by injuries and in our case there is no amount of depth possible on thby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteStafford9 about the potential of unleashing Martz on the NFL with no constraints, but both of them were not good over all talent evaluators, I applaud McVay for working with Goff then saying we can not win, and going all in with Stafford, but these other picks are head scratchers. For the life of me, I do not understand how McVay does not understand his offense is unstoppable with a goodby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Salary Cap: You have to make choices of where to spend you dollars. Wolford probably makes the vet minimum and a good backup might make 6 to 8 million a year. They could have a good backup QB but they would be short somewhere else.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Snead job is to put together a roster using trades, drafting, FA, UDFA etc. I think when you look at the totality of his work the Rams roster has been playoff quality and has been good enough to get to 2 Super Bowls in the last 5 years. All those comp pick that we have gotten are from UDFA or draft picks and we seem to be excelling in that category. Snead is a big part of that along with the pby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteYOUNGBLOOD85 Les Snead and his terrible drafting Is Snead responsible for the numerous injuries? How many quality backups can you have with todays salary cap? Is Snead the one that has been slow to adjust the offense? Let's face it the injuries to the offensive line have been devastating and it has been so bad we have street free agents and practice squad players suiting up. Now if only Evans could run block and pass protect this would make sense.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thinking that if you hit on the Tutu pick would fix the Rams problems is much to simplistic. Also everyone who argues that assumes we would have chosen Humphreys which again is a large stretch. We lost 2 starters from last year We had a decent LT replacement but he is out for the year We had a decent RG replacement but he has been down We have a Center who has been out Our RG moved toby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Putting a package in for Perkins makes a lot of sense. McVay needs to do something different. Running game is a disaster and pass protection sucks. McVay is predictable and is failing to take advantage of how defenses are playing the Rams. Play Perkins as a jack of all trades and make Woolford ineligible on gameday. It seems to me that Seattle had a decimated line a few years ago and madby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Denver really has to decide if they can sign Chubb to a long term contract. Is he a building block type of player and critical to their long term success? Do they feel they will have a good chance to sign him? These would be the first questions they must be asking themselves. Otherwise they are probably looking at a 3rd or 4th round comp pick. If that is the case how much would it take tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The way the cap is set up and the players they have signed next year is certainly feasible for the Rams to be contenders again. Offensive Line should be stronger due to health and experience which should help offense. Defense is strong now and will have many returning players. Gonna need a couple of RB if we trade Akers and Hendo is a FA. Don't have a 1st but can project a decent amount of drby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay will need to be convinced that he has to change things due to the injuries and poor execution of the offensive line. He said the other day that their were a few "mental' mistakes that caused the sacks. That however does not explain the lack of holes for the RB to run through. While Akers and Henderson may not be all pro caliber they are both pretty decent when healthy and they canby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams dept the DB seems to be quite good as Kendricks & Durant have gotten opportunities and have performed quite well.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
ZN hits the nail on the head. To many injuries and changes on the oline. Digging into depth with lower quality players who haven't played together as a unit. Ouch!!! Also was a position of need before the injuries. Even more so now.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wasn't it Wagner the Rams missed out on and drafted some RB out of Cincyby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The Offense can't seem to get Allen Robinson going, the run game isn't working, and the offensive line is in shambles. The offense has to fix a whole bunch of things before they can consider integrating Tutu into the offense. Tutu is suppose to take the top off the defense right? Stafford will be on his back looking at the sky before the play develops based on the the Oline is playing. Iby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The offensive line is the big problem. Too many changes: Replacing Whit, Allen, Edwards, Sheldon, & Anchrum has devastated the offensive line. They can't protect or run block worth a darn right now. You know you are in trouble when you see Bobby Evans lining up. McVay/Coen are going to need to cook something up and fast to offset this deficiency which will be quite difficult. I always thought that Skow place was as a Swiss Army Knife and the Rams seem to be exploiting those skills to a much higher degree than I anticipated. It is also king of a next man up scenario with Van hurt Skow gets a chance but in a much different role that what Van played. Hopefully the defense can put it to the 9ers this Monday. The seem to do a great job running the ball and taking the dink passes and turning them into long gains. It will be interesting to see what Morris cooks up. Last year he played a lot of soft zone early on and then seemed to switch it up over the last 1/3 of the season. It would be nice to get Durant back. Wagner and Jones could bby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
