I agree after the 3-6 start we were a different more mature team. While we have many new players we have a young core who figured out how to win games. Not only that they expected that they would win games. A young team matured with amazing speed. That must be attributed to the quality of the young players and the excellence of the coaching who focused on teaching and development. Yes the Rebuild was a Reload just didn't seem that was the case for the 1st 9 games.
While in each season the teams are different I believe that the shared experience from last year and overcoming a slow start to make the playoffs will have a lasting effect and will carry over in the upcoming season. While we lost AD and that is huge we have added talent that is key to our success:
Offensive Line: Upgrade and Road grade. Love Avila at center 2 great guards and 2 proven tackles. All big and nasty
Backup QB: We finally have a top end backup who has won playoff games as a starter. This is huge is Stafford has to miss time and something that has been missing
Backup RB: With the drafting of Corum we now have someone we can plug in and can be a reasonable facsimile of Williams our star Running back. Don't have to change anything and can keep rolling. He can also lessen the workload and help keep Williams fresh
Pass Rush: We finally got an edge and got a good one. We also added a DT that isn't huge but is highly athletic. Both guys are off the charts as loving football and being dedicated. Do 2 guys make up for losing AD? Probably not but with the other young studs from last year we have a shot.
Defensive Backfield: We added 2 experience CB and a experienced Safety. The backend of the defense should be upgraded and we still have young guys with experience that we should expect further development from. Expect big improvements
What's next? It is diamonds in the rough time and McSnead love shopping the bargain bins.
