Some years ago when we lived in Wichita, an Indian family lived in the house right next door to us One summer they took a vacation to the west coast and were gone about 3 weeks. We thought we'd be good neighbors and mow and trim their yard while they were gone. When they got back, they were so appreciative of our good neighbor deed that they invited us to dinner at their house. We were pretty excited. We'd never eaten Indian cuisine before and we were really looking forward to it. The dad was an engineer, the mom was a high school math teacher. They had two brilliant sons... one in grade school and the other in college. We walked over to their house at the appointed time and after 20 minutes or so she brought out a plate of crackers. I thought "Ok, this must be to tide us over for a few minutes till dinner". Then she brought out a plate of what looked like frozen chicken nuggets. I kept waiting for the rest of it... for the meal. But NOPE. THAT was the meal. Needless to say, we went home disappointed and hungry and the next time they went on vacation.... we didn't do a darned thing for them.
