it's 1 of our favorite fall/winter time dishes, along with Texas Chili, and not to forget home made chicken pot pie....The hardest part of Gumbo is making the roux.....you gotta stand over that oven and stir and stir...leave it for a minute and you have yourself a burnt roux....throw it out and start over........
Bought an Indian cook book for Mary's sister in London....it's big time over there...before we sent over the book I took liberty in taking down several recipes.....tried a few using a lot of curry based stuff.....potatoes, chicken etc....haven't done any Indian dishes in quite a while.....may have to fix on that some time soon....
Right now I'm into soups...made some butter squash soup couple weeks ago....French Onion coming up....maybe Mushroom and Potato coming as well......soups are the deal this time of year....only good thing about the weather change for me is the new options for the kitchen smells and belly......
