When you mentioned your local German restaurant, I remembered there was a German restaurant here in St Louis, Schneithorst's. It was in an upscale part of town and was established in 1956. Very well known in St Louis. A couple of years ago my bladder cancer support group had lunch there ( I can't even remember what I ordered but I didn't care for my meal). After you mentioned jaeger schnitzel, I wanted to see if they had it on their menu. When I went to look up their menu that's when I found out that the restaurant permanently closed on Christmas Eve, 2019, apparently to make way for new office and retail space. I had no idea. I did find a menu still online, though. It doesn't have jaeger schnitzel but here are some of their main dishes:
