You taking the side for Big Gov. and having to go back a more than half century says it all to me. In those times the country was in a very different place, unity across the country was actually in place. The needs of the people were actually addressed. The population was also much smaller, the huge things the government attempted then was smaller in scope, population wise. Immigration was under different circumstances was even stricter. Look at what has happened to some of those ideas now....Medicare is a mess, fraud is all over the place. Welfare can be said to have even put people in a situation where they are perpetually on it. An idea that in the beginning was 1 thing and has grown out into a monster. Look what happened to the VA for years...vets waiting months on end to be seen, attended to, or worse and all under federal rule. We won WWII back then because we had the gumption to show we were a united country, it was the guys and gals who fought that war who won it, not the gov. It was the people at home working together towards those efforts and the gov. allowed those people to do so.
The companies took it on their own to ante in in that war.
I also re-read my post and no where did I say the doling out of the vaccine was running great, never said it. I did say in my area there are no issues, you seemed to have added something to my statement. Hey there have always been people who think that gov. is here to take care of everyone, I guess because those who think that think most people can't do it, or don't have the smarts to do it on their own....or for whatever reason. Others have thought that we are individuals and that is what makes America America. That we should be able to control things through our states chosen leaders because those people are within our states and should better realize our issues.... IMO if the feds get involved they tend to slow things down, add unnecessary fingers, having no real knowledge of the issues at hand in those particular areas.....
