Persistence. One might think that once your registered they would email you of an appointment date should you choose to accept it. And I know that Kaiser actually will call you re the date, location, and time. But here in Orange County, if you don't belong to a large health group, you 1st register with a general clearing facility with email, user id, name, and age. You bookmark it and every day you keep logging in to see if your status has changed. When you do the initial message is "thank you for registering, we will let you know when we have availability". Then a number of days or weeks later the message changes to "blah, blah, you are in the waiting room and you will be notified when your time has come". Then after several days and no one has "notified" you you check and wham " Please look at the available dates for your appointment". The final one is after you finally find a date and time that's available you choose it and it responds. "thank you your appointment has been set for ...
Simply put, no one calls you. You just keep married to your computer until things break loose. And there's lots of advice as to when you should check your bookmark like 6:am, 8 pm. etc. The other problem is nothing is uniform. I mentioned Kaiser where a friend of mine simply received a call. But here in a different county the Kaiser members are not getting "calls".
So who knows.
