The reason I could go thru the mains was because my TD-17 was wired to the main board. Our board doesn't have bluetooth, so I can't go directly thru the mains with my phone.
Actually, I was lucky Rick had left the mains on.... 'usually', not always, he mutes the board when we take a break just in case one of the mics starts squealing, which happens somewhat often. Which leads me too.....
I don't understand why this next is true, but it is -
As you know we have played many venues, hundreds if not thousands.... and we found that anytime we played where there were mirrors set up near us, (mostly behind us), feedback was likely.. For some years we played in a local bar where the back wall was lined with mirrors.... eventually we had to buy a feedback eliminator to fix the situation. For reasons I've never understood Rick always runs thru our sound checks, (setting the gains), with the volume cranked up nearly to max... meaning if we do get some feedback everyone within 6 city blocks, (or within .5 miles if we're outdoors), develops ear bleeds.
