My wife grew up with border collies. She wanted one. I grew up with hunting spaniels. I wanted one. We flipped a coin. I won. Problem: this dog don't hunt. She's a wussssss! Afraid of farts no less gun shots. For a water spaniel she doesn't like to swim. Oh well-she's a darling and we lover her to bits. Compared to our last spaniel she refuses to growl at anyone and would never ever bare her teeth at anyone. She loves other women and adores children of all types. Best dog we've ever had -except for her shyness relating to loud noises or for that matter any noise she is not familiar with. She will run and play in the ocean but refuses to swim. I take her in our pool but on a leash -if you can believe that. Oh well-still love her-as does everyone in the cul de sac. And she knows it as she visits them daily and they invite her in to my consternation because I have no idea where she has gone. The phone will ring and someone will tell us she's sitting on their couch watching tv with them. Seriously!
