I wasn't even sure if Greyhound still existed. They Do!!!!!!
So I checked, for the fun of it. Fresno, Calif. to Atlanta, Georgia: $198 and 57 hours. Right now a one way flight, same route, can be purchased, (depending on date), for $168.
I know what all of you are thinking.... so I did it for you. Amtrak $850 coach and $1750 with a private room.
The cheapest I've found: Thumb: $0 and an unmarked shallow grave near Holly Springs, Mississippi.
James, your comment prompts the question.... has anyone here ever hitchhiked? If so,
When did you hitchhike?
Where were you living at the time and where were you going?
Do you remember anything about the person who picked you up?
Would you do it again today?
Anything else you want to add?
I'll go first...
I have never hitchhiked myself. However when I was in college and living in Wichita, I remember picking up a guy who looked like he was a college student
and driving him about 12 miles to the Wichita State University campus. He was nice, polite... but when he got out of my Volkswagon beetle, he leaned into the window and told me not to EVER pick up a hitchhiker again. It gave me chills.
I never did... and I never will.
