Not just the war.... but the only "major", (it's debatable), site I have not visited in regards to the war is Fort Sumter. Several years back I wrote on this board about my attempt to visit Fort Sumter.
I was on a "Round the USA" motorcycle trip.... nearing Augusta they stopped me. Hurricane warning. I had to make a U-Turn. From there I tried to visit New Orleans but once again they stopped me, hurricane warning. I made a third attempt to see the sea at Galveston and you guessed it - they stopped me, hurricane warning.
Charleston, Fort Sumter, have been on my bucket list since forever ago..... and unfortunately I probably won't make it on this trip. We'll be too busy. BUT - I'll be headed back to Georgia pretty often now that my son will be living there so I'll definitely visit Fort Sumter in the near future.
