that is: "Gone With The Wind" being "Over The Top" is what I was getting at.... the transition from stage acting to film acting. Gone With The Wind came out in 1939.... they were no where near adapting acting to film at that time.
Now if that sounds weird to you, (not speaking to you directly Todd, but to everyone), think of it this way. Imagine seeing a stage play and the actors delivered their lines the way they do in today's films. First of all.... you wouldn't hear a word they said.
Big difference between Stage and Film. So it's not that the actors back then were any less accomplished at their craft.... they just didn't have years of experimentation to work with. - JamesJM
