I often get into an argument with my grandsons, (fun stuff, not heated, but never the less serious), about athletes of old and whether or not they could compete today.
I think many could. My guess is a lot of you would agree with me there.... Barry Sanders, ED, even as old as Jim Brown - that guy could play today and if you disagree you're a doofus.
BUT... that said,
Most probably could not. Size, perhaps most importantly... but also technique, how to train. We've learned a LOT. Now of course I would argue that HAD those of yesteryear had our current training knowledge they WOULD be able to compete.... but... not my point.
Here's the question... were the actors of yesteryear... WAY back, like Black and White films, as talented as today's actors? Demands on actors are different today.... also directors, and especially editors, could make ME look good today.... so there's that. BUT... without outside help were the actors of old as talented as today's actors - - in YOUR opinion? - JamesJM
