I think most of the actors today are a shadow of the actors of old. Most actors from the golden age of film started on the stage or in vaudeville. They not only had talent they had unique personalities and mannerisms.
Why do you think there are so few impersonators today, how would rich little do an impersonation of Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon or Brad Pitt. There has always been actors who had careers based more on their looks then their talent but 90 percent of the actors today got there break because of their looks.
Not to say there aren't some very talented actors today but they are far and few between.
