As you know I grew up on a farm. We did nearly all our own repairs.. including personal cars. New transmissions, engines, everything.

You used to be able to work on cars rather easily...not today. IMO they are designed to purposely make it as close to impossible as possible for you to work on a car yourself, and thus force you to pay their service department. Even some of the most simple repairs can be extremely difficult by the way cars are designed today.
