with my last truck, which i bought in 2012.. It is a 2010 Nissan Frontier and - somehow - I haven't not spent one cent on repairs in 11 years.. well, I DID fix a slight problem by taping a quarter over a hole about 8 years ago, so I've spent exactly 25 cents repairing that truck - which I can get back at any time lol.. I do get regular oil changes and batteries and filters.. I'm just amazed I haven't had to fix anything.. she has about 64K miles on her..
Its funny because when I decided to get a new truck, I wanted a standard - I only drive standards.. So, I did a search for trucks with standard trans and ONE showed up in Texas - in my hometown at the Nissan dealership.. I went to test drive her and the salesman was SO desperate to get rid of the standard (nobody wants standards anymore) he said, "Just bring it back by closing".. it was 8am and they closed at 9pm.. I took it back, said I'd buy it - this was on Friday - and he said, "keep it over the weekend and just bring me a check Monday".. Seriously! I still can't believe he did that.. I brought him check Monday and he threw in two oil changes for being honest.. Thank goodness for standards..
My other car, as you all know is an '80 TR7 Spider with around 60K miles.. I have fixed a TON of stuff on that car.. New duel carbs, new water pump, new AC, rodded the radiator, new seats (made by Sue the Dragon Lady on the show Fast and Furious), ne fuel pump, new master and slave cylinders for the choke, new plug wires, plugs, distributor, lots of little parts etc.. But she drives GREAT and is a BLAST to drive
