I know she reads a lot... she doesn't like guests very much, not even family. She watches old TV shows... those old sitcoms like "Leave It To Beaver". No pets, no walks.
Yes, she has always been this way... since birth.
Conversations: Well, they are interesting because of the no filter thing.
She is not mean, or intentionally rude... hard to explain, she means no harm but is very up front about things. For example.... if she doesn't like your hair she will tell you and do so in no uncertain terms. She did that with my sister.
She just turned 70. And yes, we are worried that it may be cancer... we'll know soon. She can care for herself... but she can't get anywhere because she can't drive.
Just a rather funny anecdote:
Often the 4 of us who take her around, do things for her, will meet and discusss what hilarious thing she has done. One of them was this: years ago we were taking her to work, (she was a Liberian at a grammar school)..... the first time I drove her she informed me that it was my job to also take her to get her mail at the post office and also stop at her mail box in front of her home (she had it delivered to both places). So pulling up to her house I stopped at her mailbox just before her driveway... the mail box on my side of my pickup.... she corrected me... I had to turn around so the mailbox was on HER side... then after she got her mail turn around again to drive into her driveway. Kind of a 'Rainman" thing.
And yes... I tried to get the mail from her mailbox myself but that was a 'no no', that wasn't how it was done.
