don't worry... you're going to agree.

I have a habit that I can NOT break.... and I'm curious if any other person, most likely a musician, does what I'm about to explain.

When I'm driving down the road I am constantly counting out 4 beats that I MUST make perfectly even between power poles. 4 beats between each passed power pole.... all the way down the road for as many power poles as I pass.

Not to brag but over the years I've gotten so good at it that I've upped the challenge..... 4 beats, in perfect meter, before I pass that car coming toward me in the opposite lane.

Now I have to admit that this is not necessarily a 'pleasant' behavior.... I'm obsessive about it. I can NOT stop doing it UNLESS - I'm listening to music as I drive.... that is the ONLY way I can refrain from counting out meter while driving..... but EVEN THEN it bugs me if the music is not in time with the passing power poles and I have been known to accelerate, or slow, to keep the passing power poles in rhythm.
