I remember you posting about getting the Gibson. I read this article not long ago about the history of the Gibson Explorer and Flying V, and thought it was pretty interesting. [stringjoy.com]

Wow, I started to say no one has EVER given me a guitar... then I remembered the story I posted just above. LOL smiley Also, my brother bought a new Taylor a couple of years ago and gave me his old Yamaha acoustic... he bought it when he was stationed in Okinawa Japan in the 70's. His purchase of that guitar influence my purchase of my first guitar and kind of got me started. I gave it to my nephews son about a year ago, but it wasn't a bad guitar for the $200 he paid for it way back then.

My guitar teacher has a Martin D-28 that one of his students gave him. It was used, but still... I gave him one of the little Ax Heaven miniatures just like it, I said because let's be honest... there was no way I was ever going to give you a REAL Martin. LOL smiley
