Rams Junkie
It has been such a miserable season. I'm looking for something the Rams can build on for next year. Does Hoecht bring something as an edge power rusher? If the blood clots can be resolved, do you have something in Jackson at LT? Do the Rams have something at nickel in Durant? Can we say we have seen enough of Kendrick? Will Bruss be able to contribute something next year? Will AD, Stafford, Kupp come back well rested and very hungry next year? Can Baker be convinced to stay on as QB2? Is the run game showing some signs of life?
The Akers situation mid-season was an embarrassment. Early in the season it did not look like the Rams could run on any team if the team had a good defense or bad one. Akers has had three hundred yards from scrimmage games in a row and brought his average per carry up to 4.1.
It looked like they were going to ship him out for a future 7th rounder. Given the dumpster fire situation padding stats against bad team is a pretty good turnaround from being on the brink of being discarded for nothing. It is where it starts. The worst run game in the league starts beating up the weaker run defenses. Let's see if Akers can have four 100-yards-from-scrimmage games to close out the season. I'm still rooting for the Rams.
You've got a lot of fingers crossed.
I'd draft to back him up, and yes, challenge him.
