3030
Specific names aside, does anyone else think keeping 8 receivers on the final roster is a bit excessive? 8 being what I keep seeing predicted for our final roster.
I get that this is a passing league and that we use our receivers on special teams.
I'd just rather see us use one of those spots for more OL depth. Typically you don't see more than 3-4 receivers on the field on a given play, but you always play 5 OL.
But I guess that's just the way Sean rolls.
Calling Powell an 8th WR is a bit misleading, 3030. He’s really our returner and technically a ST player. No way he would’ve made this team as a WR this year.
As to the remaining 7 WR’s? Hey, Rams want to keep their most talented players and 7 of them happen to be WR’s. What are they supposed to do?
Besides, as Jourdan has pointed out, most of these guys (except for Atwell) are good to very good run blockers and therefore can be semi-TE’s when needed. Rams look like they’re only carrying 2 TE’s on the 53 this year, so the numbers still work out.
No problem here at all. Smart coaches keep their best players AND then put their players in best positions to succeed.
