To help with the crowded WR room decision here are some thoughts.
Should VJ be put on pup to start the season? It’s a temporary fix, I know, but it does buy Rams a little time which they can use to evaluate WR’s in practice and perhaps in a few snaps on field in real games before forced to make a final WR decision.
About Atwell. Is he really a lock beyond the first few games on this talented roster? He can’t block and he can’t help on teams, two things that McVay really treasures. Meanwhile , McCutcheon, Skow, and Harris are strong team players. Moreover, all the other top 6 WR’s have good size and catch radius advantage ( 2 things that Stafford loves) and Atwell doesn’t.
I guess that I’m suggesting that Atwell needs to really prove himself on the field and damned quickly if he hopes to be considered a top 4 WR on this team.
I just love the talent, versatility, and depth of the WR and CB rooms on this roster. Both are an embarrassment of riches.
