While, I'm confident the Rams don't get the Superbowl without the exceptional play of OBJ, there's so much of the McVay offense that excels because of the sure handedness of Woods, and the pairing of he and Kupp in blocking for their comrades.
I still wonder as to why they pulled the trigger for OBJ.
TBH, they knew his talent level was higher than what the recent results in Cleveland had generated.
Still, did the injury to Tutu create a need that had to be met?
Or was it the underwhelming work of the rest of the WR Corps, including Jefferson?
Or some combination of the all that?
Somewhere in there was an assessment of short term / mandatory edict by the owner to make it to the Superbowl.
Long term? I don't think they were really using that as part of a formula
I have to imagine they knew if they hit gold with OBJ they'd get the final exam for this year aced.
