Don't get me wrong I would be fine with Woody returning. I just don't think it works from numerous angles.
Another angle is Stafford's preference. Stafford loves to throw the ball to contested routes and give his guys a chance. Woody's got great hands but he's not that guy with the catch radius and the focus for making catches with guys all over him.
Kupp is. Odell is. Higs wasn't before but looks like he is now. Depth they have Skow and Harris both of whom have the size and need to develop the hands like Higs did.
Tutu doesn't. He will never be the type of receiver 9 covets. So I think one thing ahead for the Rams is a pivot on what they prioritize in targets. Goff needed guys who can separate so the read was clear. Stafford is totally different.
So when you have a wideout who makes as much as Woody is making but he isn't the best fit and might be concerned with his touches and you have the ability to add someone who is a great fit... Yeah. It's actually sort of an obvious direction IMO.
