An anecdote:
My granddaughter is a starter on a High School volleyball team that is in the final 4 for the State Championship.
To get there they have had to play several games against teams that each had higher rankings.
These teams each had some exceptional athletes and players. So how did my granddaughter's team get to where they are?
They are a team in every sense of the word. They have chemistry. They have a common mindset and goal. No one is selfish. They each accept their roles. The result is that the individual parts if assigned a number value might not add up compared to those they beat. But in team sports chemistry and unity count for a great deal.
OBJ is, and has always been, a chemistry killer. He is not a team unity kind of guy. He is a team unto himself. Or so he thinks.
This is why bringing on board a guy like this brings with it great risk. When Rams fans applauded the Jackson signing the thought was that we had such a strong locker room that they'd be able to harness him. Turns out his selfish nature can't be harnessed no matter what.
That is exactly the same reputation OBJ brings and why I see it as bonehead signing #2. The risk far outweighs the possible reward.
