It may be a mistake. In fact I think the Rams know how much risk there is with the signing. They are rolling the dice and hoping to hit on him. Is he too thin skinned to handle McVay? Because you aren't gonna be on the field if you take snaps off when you know you're a late read. Or when you don't block. Is he going to fully buy-in and do the work? Or will he go back to what he's been which is a childish player who personifies everything fans dislike about diva WRs.
The upside is so high with this guy though that it's not a bad call to give him a try. Because what if they can get him playing well. You're talking profound improvement for this offense in the passing game.
What I don't like about it is I feel like this team is too finesse on the heels of that loss to Tennessee. So what do they do? Go get a WR. Now maybe they feel like they need more threat from that group and I don't disagree with that sentiment. It has potential to improve things. But now we are gonna play the 9ers and oh hey Allen is questionable. Do you think that the 9ers plan will be to hit the Rams in the mouth again? You bet that's their plan. So meh.
But I'm fully in and rooting for the move to work out and for OBJ to put his career back together here.
