You can't build a guy up into something not in his makeup....can't be done....I also disagree on the idea that Sean had "gripes" with Goff.....he bent over backwards to get him going....there were no gripes IMO, there was a point of illumination however....he saw that Goff had reached his potential in regards to the direction Sean wanted the O to go. He saw what he could and could not handle or do....We all saw it...he'd have a problem in a game, he'd throw a bad INT...Sean would go into safe mode.....Just look at the amount of downfield throws, the completions of over 15-20 yards...Jared was throwing 2-5 yard throws in the same amounts....He constricted the field to a game of 5-6 yard plays...
Don't know about your premise on it being a bad D he did this against, actually our D was statistically worse then theirs. To think that Jared would have the RAMS in the same spot as we are now to me is absurd.....As far as the cards game and thinking Goff would have won it you are totally disregarding that D we own....
Something happened to Jared After that SB loss that he just did not grow from there...he did not take another step forward...he floundered.....Coach had the feeling that he had to shrink the field for him so he could manage some plays...he may throw a better ball, I don't know, but that's not what the position is about IMO....
