Everyone knows what the guy brings to the field, he isn't going to be a secret weapon you need to hide for special times....If he gets 5 shots every 3 games over a season that's maybe 40+ targets...if he catches 2-3 out of those that's maybe 25-30 odd catches...if he's hitting 20+ yards a catch..say a TD every 1 out 4 or 5..that's kinda what I see possible.....IMO that's a nice little slice to go with all the rest of the pie.
But he's not being held out to be a surprise. To be fair that's how you proposed your original post.
Yes, roman, I do think McVay deliberately did not use DJ as a deep threat in those first 2 games. He preferred to spring him on a Bucs D in addition to all the other Ram weapons.
As an aside, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if McVay has other surprises up his sleeve for down the road.
