OK you win. It wasn't a playoff game, but it was against the Cards and pretty much whoever won that game went to the playoffs and the other stayed home. So it was a pretty big stage.
The issue is: is there competition for QB2 (which is what I took your question to mean). There isn't.
I think there is a competition for QB2. McVay knows Wolford is short, small and has a weak arm. They need to develop Perkins even if it means that the season could be lost if Stafford goes down. We all know that Wolford is not the long term solution at QB. Perkins has starter level talent. It's possible that Stafford doesn't pan out or decides to sign somewhere else after his contract ends. The Rams have no 1st round draft picks for the next few years.
They need to get Perkins ready to be the starter sooner than some of you think. Rams have no 1st round picks to draft a QB. As you can see from Perkins play....the NFL stage is not too big for him to handle as basically a rookie QB. How many rookie QB has looked as good as Perkins has in the last 2 preseason games? Did Goff or Bradford look as good as Perkins in their rookie season?
Yup! I would rather see McVay as the QB2 before the Wolf! After all, McVay knows the system and is about the same size as the Wolf and might even have a better arm!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
