OK you win. It wasn't a playoff game, but it was against the Cards and pretty much whoever won that game went to the playoffs and the other stayed home. So it was a pretty big stage.
The issue is: is there competition for QB2 (which is what I took your question to mean). There isn't.
Not even close to a playoff game Rock. He played against a Cards team that wasn't prepared for him. Having said that, he led us to a WHOPPING 9 POINTS!!! 9 POINTS!!! IMO, the #1 ranked Rams defense won that game more than the Wolf won it.
Keep in mind, Goff lit up that same team just weeks before. How did the Wolf fair against a team that game planned for him? I'll answer that, he didn't even make it out of the first quarter!
The Wolf is NOT "proven" as some say. If scoring a whopping 9 POINTS against a bad team that the Rams OWNED is "proven" then I guess I am wrong.
Some say "the Wolf is more experienced" than Perkins." That is true. The Wolf has a whole 70 minutes more experience in an NFL game than Perkins!!! I am surprised we even went after Stafford since the Wolf is great.
The Wolf is who we think he is. An ok backup QB with limited throwing ability and some mobility and most likely has reached his ceiling.
When it comes to a backup position (yes, especially QB2) give me the guy with the most upside and talent. IMO, that is Perkins. Let's face it. If our QB2 is starting games for us...we probably don't have much of a chance anyway. Why waste the spot on a guy who isn't going to get much better than he is now? Good teams always are trying to upgrade every position.
Perkins is an upgrade over the Wolf IMO.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
