I agree. Perkins may have played himself into a roster spot but he's not ready to be one play away from starting. Deep ball was underthrown, one down the sideline was way overthrown, timing is a bit slow at times. Highlight reel stuff if we're talking playground ball but as has been demonstrated so many times, unless one is so special athletically, you better have game between the ears.
Perkins is a great athlete already. But he needs a lot of cultivating to be considered a QB2/potential starter. There's a reason Wolford is explaining things to Perkins on the sideline.
Perkins is earning opportunities. Don't want to take away from what he's done well. But it hasn't been enough to usurp Wolford if McVay thinks Wolford can process at a stater's level.
