i agree with all you said but I think your post was in the context of actual game play. Which sort of buries the lead with this report.
Because the fact that Goff isn't taking downfield shots in practice is significant IMO.
I think it's far more understandable when a QB doesn't want take as many shots deep in a game, especially if he's under orders to protect the ball.
But in practice? Were these 11 on 11 or 7 on 7 drills?
You were on the Goff train conveying he was never as good as his stats displayed a year before I was.
I defended him the best I could until the 2019 season transpired.
I got blasted for posting he was on the hot seat prior to the 2020 season opener vs Dallas.
I had a strong hunch McVay was moving on from him but I kept it in check the best I could.
I've not been a big fan of the board since that time but I accept it and still enjoy reading many of the posters on The Herd.
Goff's gone now and I won't blast him anymore.
If he fails or looks barely above average as a Lion, I won't get any satisfaction from it.
I will admit, I'm still in la la land that McVay and company pulled this trade off.
