I like what he's done in his stops prior, from his positional jobs to his interim look. I love the staff he put together of players, in particular Brunell was a brilliant QB hire for Goff. And the guy doesn't have to speak like Shakespeare to get through to the players. He's not a cerebral type in how he comes across but you don't need to be if you know how to gameplan intelligently.
I don't think Campbell is going to have a good season in 2020. But I think if they stick with him and let him build it with that new GM he might win down the road. He's the type of leader guys respond to IMO, the type who get in the foxhole with their guys.
I like Campbell too and he has been connected with a good offense in New Orleans. I think it's telling that Payton made him the assistant head coach and that he was Miami's interim head coach in 2015 after starting out there as an intern in 2010. I also think people like to laugh at his sound bytes, but that's a pretty shallow take on him.
