And I'll add that you routinely see the drafting ability of teams change with the head coach. The Rams couldn't draft at all pre-Vermiel, then all of a sudden they were geniuses. Vermiel leaves, all of a sudden they're the Rams again and it didn't take Martz long to show he couldn't carry the org in that respect.
Fisher came in and did what he always did, which was at least being able to bring in types that fit what he wanted and he missed a lot but he also hit on two top end guys in Donald and Gurley. Prior to him we were in one of those typical Rams' windows where we were floundering.
Interesting in all this is that Snead didn't distinguish himself while under Fisher's thumb. But when McVay came aboard one of the first thing Snead mentioned was the detail and direction he was getting from that staff. And the drafts have not been perfect but they have been among the best drafting teams in the league with McVay in charge.
So yeah. I'm with you on McVay being the best thing to happen to this team in a long time. And he's just getting started. So hopefully the Rams are smart enough to keep working hard to support and get him what he wants. If they do we're going to win Super Bowls and be in play most years in the playoffs which some fans seem to not value but I definitely do.
