Goff was the lesser version of himself for a long time tbh. The lesson in all that for McVay and the Rams' front office is to quit signing guys early. That rush to lock guys up has burned them on more than one occasion too.
That's the criticism McVay deserves. That he didn't full-stop that process of signing his QB long term after that final stretch of 2018 and into the Super Bowl. And I guarantee that the league's youngest coach learned a big lesson there.
