Need cap space to sign Jones Jr. That could come from Havs, Brokers, Woods - any combination there.
I see it the way you do. I'm certain they wouldn't trade Woods or Kupp without having a vet like Jones lined up to sign.
I could easily see something like this:
1) Get a 2nd for Woods or Kupp. Save $10-$12M on the cap.
2) Pick up a vet WR like Jones on a short term deal with $8-10M of those cap savings
3) Draft a WR in this deep class.
You're not really taking a step back this year, you're filling the vertical threat role, you're restocking for the future with the draft pick, and you pick up an equivalent vet cheaper on this Covid-related down year for salaries which will turn into a comp pick in a year or two.
