The Kromer thing is unusual.

Just curious if we knew the contract status of any of the departing coaches. It's one thing to leave for a promotion while still under contract and a slightly different thing to have your contract end and not want to return. A third thing entirely if the team isn't interested in bringing you back.

Though it definitely sounds like Kromer was still under contract.

Why would a team "not be interested" in bringing back 9 different coaches?

They did block one. O'Connell.

Yes Kromer was not only under contract, his daughter, who works for the Rams too btw, had famously tweeted that Coach Kromer was not going anywhere until they won a championship. And it wasn't for another job (especially a month after the season ended.)
