To go along with the theory that the Rams could trade Kupp or Woods and let Jefferson take their role and find a WR in FA or draft to be the deep threat, it seems to me that they would have to make it Robert Woods from a cap management point of view if either were traded before June 1st. Here are the particulars:
WOODS - 29 years old / Dead money = $1.975 MIL / Cap Savings = $ 11.9 MIL
KUPP - 28 years old / Dead Money = $ 4.5 MIL / Cap Savings = $ 10 MIL
Woods is incredibly underrated in the league and a big piece of what we do. Used in every way behind LOS, really good blocker, sure hands and under rated YAC ability.
Kupp is also good blocker & YAC and has a unique ability to find soft areas in zone and a QB's best friend.
I see Jefferson being more or a skill replacement to Woods then Kupp & Woods brings less dead money and more cap savings, but I also think he would fetch less in trade stock. Woods is also less of a injury risk than Kupp.
