According to the draft value chart, the 8th pick this year is worth the 25th pick times 2. The 8th overall is worth 1400 points, 25th is worth 700.

So if we assume the Rams 2 first rounders to be in the mid 20s, then the picks are about equal. The 5th round pick is worth about 30 points. That’s a throw in.

Now the question is Teddy vs. Goff. Goff is better than Teddy so they took the Rams offer. Makes sense.

You neglected to factor in the deprecated value of our future 1sts, max, The ‘22 1st is only worth a ‘21 2nd, and the ‘23 1st is only worth a ‘21 3rd? Even with our ‘21 3rd that was included it would appear that the Carolina offer blew ours out of the water UNLESS the Lions really had the hots for Goff.

I know. I was just fooling around to give the Goff guys a hard time. LOL.

The Panthers offer is clearly better. The Lions could trade down with that #8 pick and get more value than we gave them.

It’s funny how no one in the media explains that. All the see is one vs two 1st rounders.

But to get back to the original point. It’s clear the Lions wanted Goff a lot even with the cap hit.
