IMO neither Washington nor Carolina offered the Lions more than the Rams.
Rams offer:
Goff
3rd round pick this year (#89 overall)
1st round pick in 2022
1st round pick in 2023
Washington's offer:
19th overall pick this year
3rd round pick this year (Washington has the 74th overall and the 84th overall: I haven't seen which one they offered.)
Carolina's offer:
8th overall pick this year
"a later pick" this year
The thing is, both of the other offers would have left the Lions without a QB. So with the Carolina deal they could have picked a QB at #8. According to this Walter mock draft [
walterfootball.com] that would have been Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State. So to take that Carolina offer to the next level:
Carolina's offer:
Trey Lance
"a later pick" this year
That doesn't move the needle from where I sit, even considering the cap hit that Goff brings to the Lions.
