but there were times in the past couple of years that were really disappointing and made me question whether he would truly take the next step. Which of course he didn't. Shame because he looked so promising.

But over the past few years on certain 3rd down ( and at least one 4th down) he seemed to just throw the ball knowing it had little chance of being completed. Like he was just just hoping. It was that lack of confidence that really gave me pause.
