I was starting to falter about 2 games into the season

Because Goff didn't have a good year in 2019, I guess I was wary of 2020. And I didn't see any improvement in him. But what got to me was the dink and dunk offense that honestly I couldn't quite get my head around. McVay is NOT a play it safe, dink and dunk kind of coach. Yet I can't say that I attached that dink and dunk as a design to try and work around Goff as much as I figured it was McVay's way of dealing with an Oline he didn't trust to protect. But that didn't compute with PFF and some of the ex NFL players and GMs saying that the Rams Oline was top 10. So it turns out that all these issues revolved around Goff.

I started to think early in 2020 that the Rams just may be saddled with a QB that is inconsistent but good enough to play the Rams to a winning record, however that's about the extent of it. So, I just stopped defending him. It really didn't occur to me that the Rams would make a change (except maybe to Wolford) until the thumb injury, Goff's reaction to it, and then the McVay body language and facial expressions.

Yep. I was as surprised at the blockbuster trade, and the way it was structured, as anyone. I didn't see it coming.
