He needed to have a bigger impact. A rating makes him have a better game relevant to what? Why are so many trying to put a gold ring on a wart? He needed to have a bigger impact. It's a team sport, the D was having big time
trouble for the most part ( caused a fumble, went right to Aaron, dropped 2 INT's in the end zone that could have saved some points) on top of that they couldn't get off the field. All the more need for Jared to make an impact.
I'm trying to make a point that these rating things may be big for stat guys and fantasy guys, but to me having a higher rating without any impact means squat......yes a guy like Allen had a lower rating, but he was going up against a pretty solid D as well and his lower rating can't show the impact he had on a tough defensive game. Brady had a lower rating in his game as well, but look what his impact had on the game.
If a guy has a great completion % like Jared had but it was for only 175 yards, what does that really mean...outside of his 2 great passes in those medium range completions he was dinking off passes.....1 example I have is when we had it a mid field and got behind the sticks....4th and like 14.....we needed to really make a play, an impactful game meaning play....5 effing yards..he threw it 5 effing yards.....Now he completed the pass it helped his eventual completion % it helped him get that game rating.....but it had no impact on the game, if anything it was a negative impact on the game.
I can't say a guy played better then other guys when his play had zero impact on an outcome, at the same time those other guys did make plays that had an impact.....
I have said a hundred times, I am giving him credit where I feel it's due, he played with effort, he played with a known recent injury, he played without complaining.....those are positives for him. I'm not giving him a nod over guys who may have not had his rating, but made the plays on their offenses when they had to get them and impacted their teams wins.
