There is my exact point.....there is a real comparison if it's over an entire season....you have numbers over an extended period....And also by the way you have never seen me compare Goff's 22nd spot to anyone.....I don't do those things, I made this comparison to show that a rating can be not so truthful in actual game #'s. The rating itself proves nothing comparing if you are using such a small data input....
Sorry but 174 yards and a TD are not stellar numbers. I will give him his dues, he did not make mistakes with the ball (although you must admit he had a ball that a guy dropped for an INT). He is coming off a right hand injury and did not give excuses....When you go against a Rogers led team you have to keep in the back of your mind no matter how good your D ranks it may have to come down to having to out score them....we failed miserably.
To hang your hat on Goff's QB rating being higher then the other QB's in that round, well I guess no harm in it, but to me it doesn't do a thing......
I think the other way to look at it is one game in the playoffs far outweigh the regular season games....this is play well or go home time, money on the table....Goff had one of the better games by any of the other QB's in the divisional round, just give the kid credit instead of try to somehow qualify it.... hard to put up stats when your watching your defense get dragged up and down the field all day...
Don't bring up QB ratings if you don't want to acknowledge them when they don't fit your narrative (not you, just in general to those who love to use it when it works for them)
Like I said, it is what it is.....you can't have it both way
